I was searching the web for the most visited website in our country and I found it at Top Philippines Website.

I’m not really familiar with sulit.com.ph. I know it’s a sell site but that’s about it so I decided to check it out and see what makes it the numero uno website in the Philippines. Lo and behold, this site is full of activity. There are almost always 10,000 or more users (members and guests) buying and selling stuffs online. I do sell stuffs (concentrated on computer related items) but I mostly do it on TipidPC; ranked 13th as of this posting. Anyways, I decided to sign up at sulit in hopes of expanding my reach. I really like it so far. There’s a lot of pretty neat features to advertise your products. I’ll probably expanding my coverage about this site soon once I get to explore more of its features. Stay tuned.

Click here to check out the site.

Apparently, I have some idle time on my hands so I signed up for Clixsense to try and earn a couple of bucks by clicking on 30 second ads. Joining is free but I instantly signed up for the $10 premium member upgrade as you get to click more ads that’s only available for premium members.

Click the banner below if you are interested to join and try it out:

In my personal opinion, you won’t really earn a lot from clicking the ads. What would make you earn a lot from Clixsense is if you are able to refer a lot of people to sign up at Clixsense.

I only joined last July 17, 2008 and I have now earned $1.97 so that’s around $8 to go before I break even on my $10 investment. By the way, they deduct $3 sending fee whenever they issue you a cheque.

What’s OIDP? It’s the acronym for “Only In Da’ Philippines”

Here you will find concepts, images, funny stuffs, anomalies etc that can only be found in the Philippines.

You may recall that I briefly mentioned in my recent post that Gilbert Arenas was in the Philippines for a visit.

Gilbert Arenas, who currently has a blog on NBA.com, made an entry talking about his whole trip which of course included Manila as well. To my surprise (and eventual giddiness), out of the many titles he could think of, it was titled: “Everybody Should Visit Manila“. Easy to say, he sure gained a country’s worth of fans after writing that.

…..

One thing I want to say about Filipinos: they’re very warm people, very good-hearted people. Like, everybody was nice. You know, you meet nice people, but a whole country of nice, genuine, warm-hearted people was unbelievable. These are diehard fans.

….

You can read the rest here

There you go guys! People may consider our country as third world and poor (it’s true) but we sure don’t lack good, heartwarming, affectionate, hospitable citizens (plus the many great places you get to see here). And that, my friends, is what makes our country great.

Last week, I joined Link Referral in hopes of getting more traffic to my site. Not only did I get traffic, I got reviews from other users as well regarding my site. I would like to thank all those who reviewed my site and I want you guys to know that I took notice of your suggestions and constructive criticism. I’m looking for a more suitable Wordpress theme for my travelog in hopes to make my site more accessible and easier to navigate. I would also like to address the direction of my travelog. I’m thinking of adding current events and other Philippine related information. If you think that’s a good or bad idea, send me an email or post a comment.

Thanks!

Cheers,

In this basketball-crazed country, there is no better place to be but at the Araneta Coliseum where collegiate teams the De La Salle University Green Archers and the Ateneo Blue Eagles face-off against each other. Also called “The Big Dome”, the 20,000 seater Araneta Coliseum is known to be the largest indoor facility in Southeast Asia. It is a very popular venue for concerts (foreign and locals alike), sports events, contests, speaking engagements and the like.

No other event can pack this place quite like when these two teams face-off. The place is flooded in a sea of green and blue:

The UAAP had 2 special guests during this occasion. The first one being Filipino boxing sports icon Manny Pacquiao (coming of a fresh victory and winning the title against David Diaz) and the other being NBA superstar Gilbert Arenas (not pictured).

The two teams warming up:

The tip-off:

Halftime cheer:

Huddle:

The game was close all throughout and like any basketball game there can only be one winner… the Ateneo Blue Eagles. Sadly, I root for the DLSU Green Archers. No worries though. It’s just the start of the season and I’m pretty sure my team will bounce back. The teams will face each other again in the second round and hopefully by then the team has improved and be able to make the adjustments to win the next time around.

Two schools. Two teams. Two sides; a green and a blue.  A storied rivalry. Fierce and intense but at the end of each game, sportsmanship and gamesmanship always prevails.

We are one.

Just last June 27-28, we had our teambuilding at the Caylabne Bay Resort. I’ve actually been there just last May 24 to attend an event so the pictures you’ll be seeing here are from both dates. Located at Ternate in Cavite, it took about a 2.5 hour bus ride going to Caylabne.

Greens are abundant:

The beach… is just a beach:

The pool overlooking the beach was nice:

We stayed at the apartment style buildings:

The interiors were pretty nice. I had multiple complaints with the room that we got. First, the aircon was not working. Second, the shower was pretty weak. And lastly, the toilet bowl was leaking water (a waste). I hope this was just an isolated case.

I saw different types of boats:

I’d say the place is just perfect for teambuildings. There’s quite a lot of things to do there. There’s the beach, the pool, the green areas, basketball, tennis, and a whole of activities you can create with the available facilities. So yeah, I had fun there both times I was there. Most importantly though, I had fun because I enjoyed the company (both the entity and the people) I was with.

Philippine Airlines’ New Motto

admin on June 30th, 2008

Well, it’s finally time to go back to Manila. The Philippine Airlines (will now be referred to as PAL) plane that I rode going back seems to be the newly brought ones. Who cares right? You’ve ridden in one and you’ve ridden them all… or so I thought anyway. Lo and behold, here’s a scene inside the plane before takeoff:

No, the plane is not on fire.

Don’t know about you but this is the first time I’ve seen white smoke coming out of the airconditioner in a plane like a freezer.

The kid in me came out and I was like “whooop-dee-doo this is soooo so COOL”. The smoke was gone when the plane took off.

PAL’s new motto?
“We bring the clouds to you… literally!!!”
